Trip around the world without leaving DC

At the EU Delegation

Every May, dozens of Embassies open their doors to the curious and excited crowds of DC area residents and tourists.

As long as it’s one of the Passport DC events, you don't need a passport or a visa to travel to any of the 60+ participating countries.

All are welcome to visit their Embassies and make a trip around the world in just one day.

Dates at the Iraqi Embassy

Last year, we tasted delicious appetizers and wine of Spain, listened to the live Brazilian tunes, browsed through the traditional handcrafts from Nepal, and joined in the festive and welcoming atmosphere with food and music at the Embassy of the Republic of Iraq.

The year before, we visited Serbia, Indonesia, Sri Lanka, Croatia, Korea... Too many to remember :)

Passport DC is a fun, vibrant event that brings people together and celebrates international friendship. This Saturday, May 5, you can take a tour of some of the most unexpected and exotic countries from distant corners of the world. And next weekend, May 12, European Union is having an open house when you can explore national traditions of the 27! of its member states.

Don’t miss out on this chance to meet another culture!

Let’s mix!
